Directions to PLAYA ENCANTO from PHOENIX

1. Go west on I-10 toward Los Angeles.

2. Turn south on Arizona Highway 85 to Gila Bend, I always fill up with gas and ice at Loves gas station. It's the cheapest gas you will see for a time. Head to Ajo, Arizona . The Olsen groceries store is a good place to get anything you remembered you forgot, and then head to the border at Lukeville.

3. Cross the border and continue south to Sonoyta, Go slow here. There is a school zone. It is not real clear where it is so just take your time and be safe. Go up the hill to the first stop sign.

4. Turn left at the stop sign, continue over a bridge and watch for an overhead sign to Puerto Penasco  the road forks off to the right. Follow road through town. Go slow or you will meet the local Police and donate to the cause.

5. Head south on Sonora Highway 8 to Puerto Penasco. Take your time and enjoy the ride. It will take about one hour.

6. When you get to the city limits of Puerto Penasco, continue on main road through town.

7. Pass through the major intersection that has the overhead walkway and the large green signs.

8. Go over the train tracks and at the next traffic light, turn left onto Fremont Boulevard. You are on your last leg of the trip.

9. Continue about 8 miles on Fremont Boulevard this will turn into Caborca Highway and take you to the beach house.

10. At the Playa Encanto  and  Playa LaJolla sign turn right and proceed 5 miles toward the beach.

11. Just before going uphill onto the dune, turn right and then a quick left up the hill to the Playa Encanto guard shack. Check you mileage because 1.5 miles from the guard shack you turn left on road leading to beach. The house is in front of you. You must stop or you will run into the beach house. If you have trouble finding the house please ask the security guard for directions.

1. Follow steps 1 through 5 above.

2. About 11 kilometers outside of Rocky Point, the exit for Highway 8 is to the right and will circle around to a STOP SIGN before crossing the highway and heading east toward Caborca.

3. Go 9 miles, just past a railroad crossing. Take exit to right and proceed toward Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco).

4. Go about 1 mile to the large Playa LaJolla sign.

5. Turn left and go 5 miles toward the beach.

6. Just before going uphill onto the dune, turn right and then a quick left up the hill to the Playa Encanto guard shack. Check you mileage because 1.5 miles from the guard shack you turn left on road leading to beach. The house is in front of you. You must stop or you will run into the beach house. If you have trouble finding the house please ask the security guard for directions.
